Homemade granola! It’s simple, crunchy, sweet and can be add to so many dishes. Use it in your morning yogurt or add it to your after dinner dessert. This recipe is straight forward and basic. Feel free to spruce it up with additional ingredients like raisins, cranberries, seeds, and nuts. Heck! Add in chocolate chips or toasted coconut. Go crazy!
1/2 c brown sugar
1/2 c honey
1/4 vegetable oil
4 c old fashioned oats
1 c walnuts, chopped
1 tsp salt
dash of cinnamon
Preheat oven to 225º.
In a small sauce pan, over medium heat, melt brown sugar, honey, and oil together until the sugar has mixed in completely.
Chop your walnuts.
In a large bowl add your oats and walnuts. Pour the sugar mix over the oats.
Sprinkle with cinnamon and salt and mix thoroughly.
On a parchment lined baking sheet spread the sticky oats out evenly.
Bake for about 60 minutes or until oats are well toasted. Be sure to toss and evenly spread out again every 15-20 minutes.
